Dennis Koshy has completed training in Visual Webaccess, a sophisticated access control and security management system manufactured by Primion of Germany. This system has been installed in the new Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland campus in Busaiteen.

Khayber Trading Company have been awarded the contract to design, supply, install and commission the fire protection systems for the new multi-storey carpark in the Bahrain Financial Harbour. The scope of work includes sprinkler systems by GW Sprinklers, hosereels by Bristol Fire engineering, fire pumps by SPP Pumps, and CO2 fire extinguishing systems manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

KTC staff have completed training on a new range of products manufactured by Kee Safety. These include KeeClamp®, an innovative product for the construction of steel tubular structures, KeeGuard®, a modular, free standing roof edge railing system that does not penetrate the roof membrane, and BeamClamp™, a superior method of securing secondary steelwork and building services equipment to primary steelwork.

KTC have been awarded contracts to supply an analogue addressable fire detection system utilising Apollo Fire Detectors XP95 detectors and closed circuit television systems manufactured by Pelco in the new Al Matrook Tower under construction in the Diplomatic Area.

This development includes three 52 storey residential buildings adjacent to the Bahrain Financial Harbour and is being built by Al Hamad Construction. KTC are to design, supply and install fire fighting systems including automatic sprinklers, wet-riser, hosereels and FM200™ extinguishing system manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

The Ministry of Works has awarded KTC a contract to design, supply and install Carbon Dioxide fire suppression systems throughout the electrical switchrooms and control rooms of the Sanitary Engineering Directorate. Over 500 CO2 cylinders will be utilised in the project. The equipment will be manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

The Gulf Hotel has selected KTC to design, supply and install Carbon Dioxide fire suppression systems in their LV and HV switchrooms. The systems will be designed in Bahrain using the latest hydraulic design software. The equipment will be manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

In order to keep in touch with developments within the security industry David Smith and Dennis Koshy visited the IFSEC exhibition on Birmingham, England. They met with many of KTC's suppliers including Pelco, APT, Singular-Tech etc. They were also able to find new products to introduce into the range. Details will follow in the next few weeks.
KTC has secured an order from the Ministry of Electricity to supply marshalling boxes manufactured by Weidmüller. Weidmüller is the leading provider of solutions for the transmission and conditioning of power, signals and data in industrial environments.

Zain are to use an FM200™ extinguishing system manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection to protect their latest server room. KTC were selected to design, supply and install the system based upon their proven track record and their ability to carry out door fan integrity testing of the room - an essential part of system commissioning.

Arab Banking Corporation has selected an Argonite fire suppression manufactured by Ginge-Kerr of Denmark. The Argonite fire suppression system uses an inert gas that offers effective fire protection with zero environmental impact. It is a simple blend of 50% Argon gas and 50% Nitrogen gas with a density similar to that of air.
KTC has secured an order from the Ministry of Electricity to supply cast resin joints and pot ends manufactured by W T Henley. W.T. Henley manufacturers an extensive range of electrical equipment, used throughout electricity supply distribution networks, from substation to consumer and have been selected for use in Bahrain based upon both the quality of their products and their competitive price.

Sim Leisure has awarded KTC the contract for the design supply and installation of fire protection systems for the water park which forms one of the main attractions in the Bahrain City Centre Complex in Seef. The water park will be one the largest climatically controlled indoor/outdoor water parks. The scope of work includes sprinkler systems by GW Sprinklers, and fire pumps by SPP Pumps.

Batelco is continuing the phase out of Halon systems, and in line with previous contracts has placed an order with KTC to install Argonite gas extinguishing and analogue fire detection systems in the exchange in the Diplomatic Area. Argonite is an ozone friendly gas comprising of the naturally occuring gases; Argon and Nitrogen, and the systems are manufactured by Ginge-Kerr of Denmark.

The Ritz Carlton Hotel has selected KTC to design, supply and install FM200™ fire suppression systems in their LV and HV switchrooms. the systems will be designed in Bahrain using the latest hydraulic design software. The equipment will be manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

KTC has been awarded the contract for the design and refurbishment of sprinkler systems in Paste Plants 1 & 2. The systems will be designed to meet the requirements of both NFPA and FM Global standards. Full hydraulic calculations will be carried out in-house by KTC sprinkler engineers.

Alkomed has awarded KTC contracts for the design supply and installation of fire fighting systems for the Royal Golf & Country Club at the new Riffa Views development. The systems include sprinklers manufactured by GW Sprinklers, hosereels by Bristol Fire engineering, and FM200™ fire suppression systems manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

KTC has been awarded the contract for the design supply and installation of addressable gas detection systems for the Bahrain City Centre Complex in Seef. The system will utilise the latest Hydra gas control panel and detectors manufactured by Crowcon. A total of 33 detectors will be installed throughout the complex monitoring the gas supplies to all the food outlets.

KTC hosted the annual Spring Medal golf tournament at Awali Golf Club. Congratulations to Abdulla Mubarak who scored a gross 70 to win both the scratch prize and the overall tournament. We also congratulate Gus Cunningham who won the competition for the sponsor's invitees.

Mercury Contracting has awarded KTC the contract to supply Swifts cable trays and accessories to the new Arcapita Headquarters. Swifts a brand name of Legrand, are reknowned for manufacturing a high quality cable tray system which includes a wide range of accessories such as preformed bends, tee pieces, couplers and unique fasteners.

Installation of Abacus himasts for the new Hidd Port is now well underway. The order comprised both 35m and 40m raising and lowering himasts and associated 1000W floodlights.

The succes of FM200™ as an extinguishing medium has contiued and so far in 2008 KTC has secured orders for the design, supply and installation of FM200™ systems in the United International Bank, Ministry of Information, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain Credit, and Royal College of Surgeons. The systems are manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

Dennis Koshi and David Smith completed their Endura™ certification at the Pelco training facility in Eindhoven. KTC is now an Endura™ Certified Integrator with in-house capability to design, install and commission Endura™ based systems. The Endura™ hardware platform offers all the components necessary for networked digital video systems delivered over an Ethernet network with total access flexibility.

KTC has secured an order to provide Aviation Warning Lights for the new Bella Vista Tower Development in Mahooz. The lights will be manufactured by OBSTA of France, who have been manufacturing discharge lights for over 50 years.
