KTC has been awarded the contract for the design supply and installation of fire protection systems for the two hotels which form part of the Bahrain City Centre Complex in Seef. This includes sprinkler systems by GW Sprinklers, Argonite gas extinguishing systems by Ginge-Kerr and fire pumps by SPP Pumps.

An Endura™ IP-based closed circuit television systems manufactured by PELCO has been selected to provide 24 hour municipality monitoring and recording of the Tala Island development on the Amwaj Islands. The Endura™ IP Video System offers the reliability, scalability, flexibility, and performance that is required for this application which is the first phase of a comprehensive security solution for the project.

KTC has been awarded the contract to supply an analogue fire detection system in the new administration centre presently under construction for the Ministry of Electricty and Water in Juffair. The system will utilise series XP95™ detectors manufactured by Apollo and Vega™ control equipment manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

A closed circuit television systems manufactured by PELCO and an access control system manufactured by primion Technology AG will be installed in the new medical campus constructed by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Smartcard technology will be utilised allowing access cards to have multiple functions. These can include access control, student management, refectory and copier billing and library usage.

KTC has completed the refurbishment of the fire detection and alarm system in the Gulf Hotel. The system comprises Apollo XP95™ multisensor detectors which are controlled by a Vega™ analogue addressable control system manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection. Apollo detectors were chosen by the hotel as they have been used successfully in the old hotel for some fifteen years without any problems.

KTC has completed delivery of Abacus himasts for the new Hidd Port. The order comprised both 35m and 40m raising and lowering himasts and associated 1000W floodlights. KTC's management team dedicated to the City Centre Project headed by Mr Ramasamy Raja are to be congratulated in having acheived their first milestone; completion of the firefighting infrastructure works to the new Carrefour store in the City Centre Development. This has been a significant acheivement due to the accelerated work programme in place.

KTC have signed a contract with Empac to supply, install and commission fire detection and fire fighting systems in the restaurant and office building at the Bahrain International Airport. An analogue fire detection system using Series XP95™ detectors manufactured by Apollo will be installed together with a sprinkler system using equipment manufactured by GW Sprinklers

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in conjunction with the Government of Bahrain are constructing a purpose built medical campus in Muharraq. KTC have been awarded the contract to supply and install FM200™ gas extinguishing systems to protect Control Rooms and Substations. The systems will be manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection.

KTC has secured orders for the supply of Swifts stainless steel cable tray and accessories to the BAPCO Refinery Gas Desulphurisation project. Swifts cable tray has been used extensively in the refinery in the past and has been selected for this project based on both its flexible installation characteristics and durability.

Mr Sanjeev Talwar from KTC and Mr Lee Sang Hak of Henikwon have successfully commissioned 1600A and 2000A busduct systems for the Seef Twin Towers project. The commissioning tests were witnessed by Mr Kurian George of Adel Ahmadi Associates and Messrs Vijay Sakhardande, Shakil Ahmad and Muneer of G. P. Zachariades.

KTC has been awarded the contract for the design supply and installation of fire protection systems for the new Bahrain City Centre Complex in Seef. Work commenced earlier this year but David Smith and Murugesan of KTC signed the formal contract with Mr Shaukat Ali Mir, the Middle East Regional Director of Voltas today.

Dennis Koshi recently attended the Gitex exhibition in Dubai where he received training on the latest range of time & attendance products manufactured by Singular-Tech. He is seen here on the stand with Paola Alcala, head of exports for Singular-Tech. Singular-Tech manufacture a range of products which can include biometric technology. Sanjeev Talwar received on behalf of Khayber Trading Company the "Outstanding Sales Performance Award for 2006" from Mr David Thorpe of Furse. Since forming a partnership with Furse, KTC has demonstrated consistent growth. Recent projects include provision of Lightning protection to the Arcapita Bank Headquarters and the University of the Royal College for Surgeons from Ireland.

Khayber Trading Company have concluded an arrangement to promote Stöbich products in Bahrain. Stöbich are one of Europes leading suppliers of fire protection closures which include fire and smoke rated fire curtains, fire shutters and fire rated closures for conveyor systems. These products complement KTC's existing range of fire systems products.

KTC's Sanjeev Talwar and David Smith have just completed the latest Product Training with Weidmüller's training facility in Detmold Germany. Of particular interest was Weidmuller's new range of Active and Passive Industrial Ethernet products. Weidmüller have developed a new range of industrial ethernet solutions which maximise network performance and are suitable for the harshest industrial environment.

In May 2007 Bahrain Airport Services selected Khayber Trading Company to carry out the design supply and installation of an extensive CCTV system in their Cargo Headquarters. Using the latest cameras and digital recording equipment from PELCO, the leading supplier of CCTV equipment from the U.S.A., the system was delivered and installed in a timely manner.

KTC has been awarded the contract to design, supply, install and commission the fire protection systems for the Marriot Service Apartments in Juffair by M/s Hamad Construction. The apartments consist of two 22 storey towers. The work includes sprinklers, wet-risers, hosereels and pumpsets.
KTC has formed a partnership with FESD of Dubai to supply integrated card access and time and attendance solutions in Bahrain. Using products from primion Technology AG of Germany, including the most up to date biometric technology, KTC will be able to supply the very latest range of access control, time & attendance and integrated security management solutions in Bahrain.

Work has commenced on the installation of an integrated closed circuit television system and fibre-optic perimeter detection system at the Bapco Sulphur Handling Facility. An anti-climb intruder detection system manufactured by Micmar will be used in conjunction with Pelco Spectra IV dome cameras and DX8000 digital video recorders to provide twenty four hour surveillance and recording.

KTC has been awarded the contract to supply, install and commission an analogue fire detection system in the new Fraser Suites service apartment building in the Seef Mall complex. Apollo XP95™ detectors will be utilised and the system will be connected with the existing VegaNet™ graphic control system manufactured by Kidde Fire Protection

Batelco is continuing the phase out of Halon systems, and in line with previous contracts has placed an order with KTC to install Argonite gas extinguishing and analogue fire detection systems in a further 14 outstations. Argonite is an ozone friendly gas comprising of the naturally occuring gases; Argon and Nitrogen, and the systems are manufactured by Ginge-Kerr of Denmark.

Murugesan and David Smith visited Ginge-Kerr in Denmark for training on the latest release of the windows based Argonite™ hydraulic calculation software and the latest design manual. The software is written by VdS and FM approved. Murugesen is seen here at a live discharge demonstration - with temperatures around -4C it was quite a contrast to Bahrain!

Poullaides Construction has awarded Khayber Trading Company a contract to install fire-fighting systems in the new AMA University. This includes FM200™ gas suppression systems in fifteen computer laboratories with a total of 2450 Kg gas, fire hosereels and pumpsets and portable fire extinguishers
